This delightful hotel is just a few minutes' walk from Princes Street in a Georgian crescent, overlooking a large expanse of green. It is in a charming part of Old Edinburgh, situated on a cobbled street.Rooms have recently been refurbished and are in very good condition. All rooms retain a traditional feel, whilst having all modern conveniences expected of a hotel of this standard. Many rooms have a view of the hotel's landscaped gardens. The restaurant has a very warm feel and is decorated in terracotta and green shades. The hotel was built from a number of adjoining houses with white stone facades. It is a stunning Georgian exterior, one of the most elegant in the whole city. The lobby is medium in size. Following the refurbishment in 2006, despite the brand new furniture and decor, it has managed to maintain a traditional feel in keeping with the historic building itself. The lobby leads in to the bar area, which is also warm and comfortable and an ideal place to relax. There are also elegantly landscaped gardens, separated by the original Georgian garden walls. This is a pleasant hotel in the heart of the city. The hotel has its own gymnasium on the patio level. (KB 07/08).
